LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Metro Louisville’s record setting year for violent crime has now claimed another victim.

The Louisville Metro Police Department is investigating after a man was shot and killed near the University of Louisville campus early Friday morning.

According to a spokesperson for the LMPD, the shooting was reported around 2 a.m. Friday in the 2200 block of Arthur Ford Court, where University Park Apartments are located.

No word on if any arrests have been made.

The victim, a man in his 20s, has not yet been identified.

So far this year, there have been more than 160 homicides in Louisville. That’s nearly double from all of 2019.
