LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
The Male High School Bulldogs have won eight straight games heading into the Kentucky State Championship game.
The Bulldog’s defense has averaged only giving up 10 points per game while the offense averages scoring 47 points per game.
Ahead of the championship game on Saturday, Male knows they have their work cut out for them. A rematch of their opening game is set as the Bulldogs are facing Trinity High School who they lost to earlier in the year.
These opponents are no strangers to each other in the playoffs as last year’s state championship resulted in a Trinity win over Male. The Bulldogs also fell to the Rocks in a final four playoff game in 2018.
“This is what it’s all about if you’re a competitive person,” head coach of Male’s team Chris Wolfe said. “It’s a huge challenge, it’s what drives you to focus and be detailed.”
The matchup between the Bulldogs and the Rocks is set for a 7 p.m. start on Saturday at University of Kentucky’s Kroger Field in Lexington.
